I got to appreciate this song just recently when I started to realize we could never have our daddy back anymore. The song reminds me so much of our dad that gave the best of his life for us,his nine children. Losing a mother is like losing one of your legs but losing both a mother and a father is like losing both your legs..feels like I never wanted to move on anymore, I lost (for a while) my desire to go on living.
The song narrates the growing up years of a child with a mother and a father and depicts the longing for a father's love.

Another song about father and daughter.Sung by Crystal Shawanda. Again this song reminds me of so many things about Daddy that made me miss him even more. A part of this song that really made me shed a bucket of tears " It was killing me to see the strongest man I ever knew wasting away his life in a hospital bed". I was not really on his bedside in the hospital but I still felt the pain, how much more for my brothers and sister who was there beside him when he was fighting for his last breath. Daddy indeed was the strongest man I ever knew. He was a fighter, not only because he was a soldier but because he braved the Big C for more than 2 years. We know for sure that he was hanging on for us, his children, but time came when we really have to let go of him.
